Meetings
What’s a meeting like, what’s covered, and who usually attends? Can I come?
First off, anyone is welcome at our public board meetings. We hold them once a month. While we are not a public body (open meetings law) our doors are open and folks are welcome. They are typically held at the school. We loosely follow Robert’s Rules of Order, there is a standard agenda, we welcome comments from the membership at large, and sometimes there are board votes and sometimes full membership votes.
The Boosters were revived in 2024, taxes hadn’t been filed in two years, and teams had done their own fundraising in the meantime. In short, we are still in the recovery phase. But we are all about “fixing forward”. Taxes are filed and current, we are a 501c3, we have a raffle license, we give grants to support East Students.
Our focus, per the bylaws, is to support East High School student engagement through athletics and clubs. This is a change from years past when East boosters were only focused on Athletics.
We had a very successful Party for Purgolders in April 2025 and are looking forward to another in April 2026.
The board members have specific areas that they focus on: Fundraising, Membership (Secretary), Concessions, and Communications. Money falls to the treasurer, and the President and Vice President fill in other roles such as liaising with the school, MMSD, and groups. They also support the focus areas. In an ideal world, each of these areas would have working groups reporting back up to the board – we are not there yet – but someday, especially with your help.
Attending a board meeting is a great way to connect with active parents at East. While we don’t have all the answers, if you have a question, we can hopefully connect you with someone who does.

By Laws
Our bylaws were ratified in December of 2024. This was after the East Boosters were dormant for a few years.
