Welcome, Bakers

We’re thrilled to have you join the first‑ever Great East Side Bakeoff & Community Bake Sale. Your creativity helps raise funds for East High student activities and builds Eastside Pride.

Event Details

  • Saturday, February 14th from 1-4 p.m. at Goodman Community Center Ironworks
  • Dropoff: 12:15-1:30 p.m.
  • Judging: begins at 12:30p
  • Bake Sale Opens: 1 p.m.
  • Winners Announced: 3 p.m.

Entry Fee

This event supports the Boosters’ Grants program, which funds student clubs, teams, and activities.

How to Participate

You may enter multiple items; each competition entry requires its own fee.

Step 1: Choose Your Category

  • Cookies & Bars
  • Cakes & Cupcakes
  • Pies & Tarts
  • Breads & Rolls
  • Quick Breads & Muffins
  • Savory
  • Other (judges may reassign)

East High students compete in a separate division and do not need to choose a category. 

Sorry, but for food safety reasons, we cannot accept items requiring refrigeration (cheesecakes, puddings, cream pies, etc). All allergens, including gelatin and vanilla, must be declared at dropoff.

Step 2: Payment & Drop Off

  • Pay online to secure your spot, or pay at the event
  • Bring your entry to the Intake Table on Feb 14th to complete a quick registration form

Judging & Awards

Our panel of local celebrity judges will score entries on taste, appearance, creativity, and appeal. Category winners will be recognized and one overall Star Baker will be awarded. East High student entries will be judged in their own pool. 

Prizes are small tokens: the real rewards are bragging rights and contributing to our collective sense of Eastside Pride!

Bake Sale Details

After judging, entries (or portions of them) will be sold at the bake sale to raise funds for East High. You’re welcome to donate additional baked goods – sign up here. 

Food Safety & Other Guidelines

  • No refrigerated items (contest or bake sale)
  • Use disposable trays/plates – we cannot return dishes
  • Pre-slice or pre-portion if possible
  • All allergens must be declared

Not competing? You can still donate baked goods!

Sign up online so we know what you’re bringing – then stop by the intake table the day of the event for a quick allergen and price check. Pre-packaged, pre-portioned items help us sell quickly. Disposable containers only.

Volunteers

We need many hands to make this event happen! After dropping off your items, consider helping at the cookie decorating station, the cake raffle booth, or at a bake sale table. Sign up for a volunteer spot here.
