Fundraising
The East High Booster Club is a community-led fundraising organization committed to supporting East High School student engagement through athletics, clubs, and enrichment activities.
We support East High School and build community in three ways
- Supporting teams/clubs to raise their own funds. East High School students, coaches, staff and teachers are incredibly creative. They have great ideas on how to raise funds and a long list of ways to invest those funds in student-focused activities.
The East High Booster Club support these efforts by:
- Serving as the fiscal agent for teams/clubs. If you’d like to run your financing through the East High Booster Club, email the Treasurer at easthighboosters.org.
- Example: Cheer team has been running their own fundraising activities for the past serval years and would like to continue those efforts. However, they do not have 501c3 status or a formal accounting system. They work with the Booster Club run their funding through the Booster Club which provides 501c3 status and uses the Booster Club bank account to hold the Cheer team’s funding. The Cheer team does not need to get Booster Club approval for their independent fundraising efforts or approval to spend the funding they independently raised.
- Providing start-up money to kick-start a fundraiser. Process coming soon!
- Example: Cross Country team would like to do an independent fundraiser selling hats with “East Cross Country” on them. They need $300 to buy the hats that they will then sell for a profit. They complete all the required steps to request the funding (process coming soon) and are approved for a $300 kick-start grant from the Booster Club. They use the money to buy the hats which they sell at Cross Country meets. They plan to use the money raised to buy new tents for Cross Country meets.
- Serving as the intermediary for teams/clubs to raise money directly through the Booster Club. The Booster Club administers the concessions stand at East sporting events. Teams/clubs can sign up to work in concessions and earn money for their group. Teams/clubs are paid out their earnings at the end of the semester. They can either get that payment in the form of a check or can keep their funding in the Booster Club bank account until they are ready to spend it. Teams/clubs that work concessions can spend the money raised on whatever they see fit without needing to get Booster Club approval. Check back soon for a link to sign up to work in concessions.
- Providing funds to teams/clubs and school enrichment activities using funding raised by the Booster Club. The Booster Club has a range of fundraising activities. Club/teams and teachers hosting school enrichment activities can apply for grants which must first be approved by the Principal or Athletic Director and then approved by the Booster Club Boad of Directors. Application process coming soon!
